Our Story

The Chris Howell Foundation was birthed when author, broadcast personality, and founder, Chris Howell, saw a need to inspire others in the face of adversity by using his own history of challenges, obstacles, and triumphs to empower individuals to succeed against all odds.

In 2016, after conducting an interview with a woman living with HIV, a desire was triggered in Howell to do something regarding the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic in Dallas County. Howell lost his 33-year-old brother due to complications from AIDS in 2006 and today, Chris and his wife, Dominique, are raising awareness to thousands of individuals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area through the Chris Howell Foundation by providing HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs.

Due to the increased needs of the communities they serve, the Chris Howell Foundation has expanded to not only disease education and prevention, but their work now extends to providing programs and resources including skills development, health, wellness, and financial education.

“We believe that by empowering people and helping them to discover their life’s purpose we don’t have to spend so much time telling them not to engage in risky behavior, they will make better choices as a result of their new outlook on life, says Co-Founder Chris Howell, Sr.

Through years of service, the Chris Howell Foundation has made a significant impact in the Dallas-Fort Worth community and has been recognized by the Texas State Senate, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings proclaiming “Know Your Status Day” on February 7, 2017, and has aided thousands of individuals in HIV/AIDS testing.
